Cat D7E injector pump

mercredi 26 octobre 2016

The other day I was running my D7E dozer, Ser#47A1176, idled it down to talk to my neighbor, while talking to him the rpms went up a little, did not think much about it until I got back on the machine. gave it throttle and it did not quit, the rpms went way to high, moved the throttle lever back and forth, rpms adjusted as to the movement, except for the fact the rpms went to high, (run away mode full throttle) I stood on the track and moved the linkage by hand. There was no longer a clicking sound and the linkage moved freely.
I called cat, not much help... too old of a machine and no one here knows anything about an "old 4 banger", parts guy said, "sounds like a governor spring" They did send me a breakdown of the fuel system, pump and fuel body. I looked at the breakdown, looks like to me there are three springs,
Can some one lead me in the right direction to which spring so I do not have to tear everything apart to find the right spring, or what ever the problem may be.
I am not scared to tear into it. for I rebuild my own injectors, injector pumps and turbo's on my tractors...along with the engines, tyrannies ect. I love it. it is a challenge to me.
Thanks for any help that I can get.
