2015 Cat 305E2 Excavator

jeudi 31 décembre 2015

This machine is virtually brand new inside and out with 27 Hours! I am the original owner/operator and must sell due to circumstances out of my control. Just starting to get me business going. Two weeks ago I spent $400 for 2016 licenses. When I purchased I had it delivered with a 24" HD Rock Bucket and Hydraulic thumb. About 3 months ago I purchased from Cat a There Manual quick coupler, 18" HD Rock Bucket and a 63" tilting ditch cleaning bucket and have not had the opportunity to use. It was specked out with Heat and Air, Long Stick, GPS tracking, High Back suspenshion seat, Radio, Cab and Boom Lights, Mirrors, Aux. Hydraulics. Located in Nashville, Tn. Im sure there are a few things I've missed, Please ask. $57,000

I also have a Holden 26,000lb GVW Pintle Trailer and single axle Dump truck that I will sell with or after the 305.

621B still won't move right, oil question

Have a 621B that blew the transmission fuse and stopped moving. Took case service guy 3-days but they concluded it was the transmission control unit. Just replaced that and now it kind a moves but under a load (pushing snow) it stops again! It'll move in reverse, then starts to move forward again and stops again. Any ideas?

Second question....service manual says transmission takes SAE 20W engine oil, it that the right fluid to use?

late 80's schmidtt airport brooms for sale ( 2) brother and sister

need opinion's on what you guys think i should do? sell these out right ? put them back on auction? whatever?
heres the story. i'am a retired snow contractor mechanic and now i sub my-self and my equipt to others that do large propertys well last year i just ran myself and my loader that is fine ( but gets boring) then i seen these on the auction. well the mind starts spinning. i shred and sell top soil and figured in between during summer id turn one of these into a 3 plow with brine machine ( plow and brine at same time ) and the other into a snow blower. i've worked every buffalo emergency storm in the past 10 years , so i know a snowblower can sit but when its needed its big money !
anyway the day after i won the auction i had a mild stroke, well thats killed all my grand ideas i still do stuff but just can't get into this big a project by myself.
these came from the niagara falls airport they have never seen salt! they are low hour machines, 4wd, 2 detroit motors 1 is a straight 6 ( 671 blown and turbo) drives chassis and all aux hydraulics, 2nd motor is a v6 turbo it only drives the broom and the huge air blower.
they were sold on auction as not running. well after some tinkering i drove them both home down the road approx. 3-4 miles they ran great, steering, brakes, shifting, etc . after some more tinkering i actually sweep my parking lot with the one machine. enough said.
bottom line these are not loaders and cant stack snow but they can push just as hard and a lot faster and are a lot cheaper then a loader , screw the broom put plows on them, save the broom save some salt!!!??? whatever!!!?? parts them out ??? i want to sell these as a pair only, they are brother sister exactly alike, i have all the maintaince and repair manuals. tell me what you guys think !!!!

Case 450

Found a old 450 (no B, C etc) which the guy says everything worked when he last used it, and from appearances that was some time ago. Says the engine block is cracked and want's 2500 obo. Just wonder if it's worth fixing? Have not gone to see it and only one pic doesn't show much. If I bought it, would only fix up a resale

New member with NH575E

Just purchased a New Holland 575E off that auction site. Seller says it's a 2000 with 4000 hours. Machine photo looks decent and the seller seems like an honest sort. Awaiting delivery and keeping my fingers crossed.

Can't find a lot of info on the 575E. If anyone has the specs or more information to share it would be greatly appreciated. Seller said he might have a manual for it he will throw in so I'm waiting to see about that before ordering any manuals.

This is the only photo I have.

Auto Crane 5005H ideas

Looking for some help on diagnosing a problem with a Auto Crane 5005H. So this unit came off a service truck but we set it up in a shop. It has 2 cylinders to lift and extend the boom and it has 2 hydraulic motors to wind the cable and turn the table. So we have a continental hydraulic PVR6-4B20 hydraulic pump mounted behind a 5 hp electric motor. This pump can supply .7 cubic inches per revolution and 2000 psi at 1800 rpm. What we are experiencing is the pump stalls the motor off before we can even adjust the pump to have more then 500 psi. I assumed the relief valve in the main control valve for the crane is enough or do we need to install another relief valve before the control valve? Any help is appreciated.

Ding ding ding New Cat 272d2 cab vs bobcat S650 cab 91 package

mercredi 30 décembre 2015

Okay we purchased a new 2013 year S650 cab (non hi-flo) 91 package interm tier 3 kubota machine last year. It has been a solid skid steer and has performed in every job we have thrown at it. Snow blowing, boulder hauling, loader work, fork lift etc etc.. We only have 100 hrs on it and we have an opportunity to pick up a new Cat 272D2 CCE machine at basically a steal. Being the cat is 10-15 hp more and has a higher lift rating I just don't know if it is the right move. I spent an hour in one today and like the controls, noise level in the cab, and overall control function layout. I don't like the exposed wiring harness behind the cab, the manual plate release levers, or the door clearance (I will break that door in a week). But as the specs say it will lift more and it does have more HP. I am not a professional operator by any means but I can make this bobcat dance, it is a good unit.
I am hoping someone on the forum has had experience in these new cat machines that can give me real info on performance, reliability, and overall running costs.
And to answer the question up front it's the end of year and I can either buy another machine or upgrade our existing machine by trading it in. (I don't need two machines)..

Bucket, Grapple, Attachment Compatibillity ?

Hope I'm not starting out with a stupid question. Just bought a new to me NH 575E Bcakhoe Loader and was wondering if most front/rear buckets and attachments were compatible across machines or if they have to be bought machine specific? I could see myself wanting to add a ripper and thumb to the backhoe and a root rake/grapple on the loader end. It will be a few weeks before my machine arrives so I don't even have it here to measure and finding specs on it are like non existent. I don't want to start ordering manuals until I get the tractor and see what comes with it. I'm hoping it will at least have an owners manual stuffed somewhere in the cab.

caterpillar high track equilizer bar, wear breakage problems??

just wondering what ever ones thoughts are on these, seems like they do not last has long has any machine with the low track system.is there more leverage on them because of the high track set up?? some have said you could grease them every three hours and they still will have premature failure, its just two grease seals and a cyntrifical bearing, why does the grease setup not work??

one fellow hef member said he broke 4 or 5 equalizer bars on a 9r in 10000 hrs, it just seems like cat would build a better system.

has any one come up with any ideas how to make these better, grease zerks top and bottom or different bearing set ups, I know they changed to a oil bath system are these any better from what you have seen.??

450 vs 650

Currently have a 96 450 g . The machine runs well I Have no complaints about it . Right now were cleaning up 80 acres to turn into pasture . All the big trees and creeks are arebeing taken out w the hoe, use the dozer to push to piles, and clean the underbrush. even though the dozer runs well, it just seems real small for job at hand. thinking about trading up for larger one . 550/650 Question is, will I see noticeable power/production difference for the money spent? after cleanup done, weve got about 30 acres worth of pond to build. Also, since theoretical new machine would be larger, would LGP model be better or worse for task? not being used in mud, ground usually reasonably dry when working . New one would also mostlikely be joystick ather than pedal steer. Pros?cons of that too please.

We put solid tires on our skid steers as we were geting tired of flats. Works good but the groves wore down but they still had plenty of rubber left. We got the tire Grover out and freshened them up.Name: image.jpg Views: 0 Size: 43.8 KB

Ordered the manual but want to start now............

Have the service manual ordered for it ( 1999 D5C LGP ) but they say 2 weeks, maybe longer with the holiday. This being the case, and my having a 3 day weekend to work on it I thought if someone could give me the basics I'd have a go at adjusting the steering.

Not at all familiar with what/how it should be but in the little moving around of it I've done it is quite clear that the right side needs some sort of adjustment. Pedal goes further down by a ways and it is hard to get it to turn right.

Is there a simple linkage adjustment or am I in for another of those expensive and aggravating learning experiences?

As I understand the pedal simply adjusts the flow of fluid to that side rather than being a actual break........but I could well be confused.

Help appreciated.

Pictures would be GREAT!

Questions about a D31-16 Komatsu

i am trying to figure out how to adjust the steering on a d31-16. left pedal functions properly, the right pedal you have to really press hard on it, then it will turn the machine. i was also wondering how the clutch/inching pedal on the left side of the floorboard works, do you have to use it when you shift or is it just for inching. it has what i think is 3 forward and 3 reverse powershift.

the serial number plate says model..........D31-16
serial no.......26145

i have been trying to price some undercarriage parts and the dealer keeps asking what letter it is?? i am looking to purchase the machine and was wondering if they are decent machines and hold up.

Similar machine?

I have been unsuccessful finding any local shop that works on Case equipment. If/when I am able to figure out why my arm won't lift, I'm going to sell my Case 445CT and replace it with a similar machine that local shops will work on.....CAT, Bobcat, Kubota, etc.
Any suggestions on a similar machine by these companies to my 445CT? Only requirement is that it has tracks.....can't use a Skid Steer in the dirt/mud I deal with around my Mt House.
Thanks in advance for recommendations

Hyundai Robex 200 hydraulic question

Hyundai Robex 200LC. Machine number E1043413613

From what I've been told this is a grey market machine and parts are unavailable for it through our dealer.

I'll try to describe this issue accurately. No matter what hydraulic function you use, the hydraulics will run at full speed for about 1 second, then the engine loses a couple hundred RPM and everything slows down for 1 second then it picks back up for 1 second then it slows back down for 1 second......................... and so on and so on. In other words if you were to just sit still and only spin the house it will do this "1 second up/1 second down" pattern for as long as you sit there. And it does it no matter what function you use. It does it tracking, spinning, moving the boom, moving the stick, and moving the bucket.

I'm assuming its a main relief/main pump issue but wanted to check here and see if anyone had across a similar issue.

I should add that this machine has the electronic control pad to switch the 2 speed travel and change work modes, but none of that has worked since the customer has owned the machine. The issue I described above just started recently. So they may or may not be related problems.

Thanks in advance.

jrb style 416 series john deere coupler hydraulic cylinder

until i get into the for sale/wanted forum to see if someone has a spare for sale i figured it would be a good idea to find out what others have experienced in what took place during their experience rebuilding their hydraulic attachment pin couplers hydraulic cylinder.
i,am really looking for guys that have only delt with this particular part only ( at209163)
reason simply , its a special custom cylinder and the guys that have them will know that.
its kind of simple guys . rods are pitted from the salt !!! always being locked
they only leak a little when there unlocked for the 2 or 3 minutes .
this item comes i believe on the 444 544 644 deere its the 416 series coupler , mines the tc54h. its not a big deal but when i change from bucket to push box while plowing sometimes i can leave a little oil sheen . i rather find a new old stock or maybe a good used southern cylinder with zero rust ! i gotta think why rebuild the damm thing at $400 per rod from deere just to start with.

1986 lull 644 slipping transmission

I have a 86 lull with a funk transmission , when you start it the machine moves fine, then is starts to slip, if you shut it off for a few minutes and start it back up it moves fine for a little bit, I changed the fluid cause it looked real pink and milky , also did the filter, it also seem to be leaking out of a weep or vent hole right above the drive shaft, but does not leak all the time, sometimes it will leave a puddle, sometimes,a few drops , any ideas what this can be?

tc54h jerky turning

cold or warm engine temp when turning steering wheel at any speed (hand speed )other than very slow machine has a jerky motion . most noticed during slow speed maneuvers when loading or tight quarters
machine has 6400 hrs its done this for last 1000 hrs and ive done 2 filter changes nor maint.
i bought mach. at 5400 hrs.
its live-able but bugs me.
i.m assuming theirs a pressure flow sensing valve thats out of wack and maybe a simple adjustment or fix before a more expensive repair is caused.
all other machine functions seem perfect .
did seem to notice last night while snow plowing outside temp 32f + after 3 or 4 hours didnt notice as much .
yes center pin and turn cyl bushings are tight.

Hitachi fh150 hydraulic banging under load / loss of 1 pump

Have strange problem on our hitachi fiat fh150 (version 1 or 2 it is),

was perfect and then now has this problem
note oil and filters all repalced 20 hours ago incluidng pilot filter (previous one clean also)

under some load or end of ram travel, sometimes the pump will bang / knock every second (and pipe coming out of pump is shaking,

then other times working, then suddently lose 1 pump (eg track not work or lift is very slow
to cure problem, let go controls and adjust throttle up or down and then is fixed again

any ideas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0mekaApSDA

see below of the pump knocking (was done with operator just making rams reach end of travel)

then sometimes it does not do this, does it cold and warm
bucket ram is leaking oil through seal is only other fault think can spot.

there is drip of oil underneath when machine always in use but never find from were. (hydraulic oil).

Engine overhaul calculations for large Diesels

Can anyone help with the fuel burn specifications for the C32 and 3512C Caterpillar engines. I am trying to find out when I should overhaul, period is after ??? fuel is burnt or X hours.
Cummins had a spec on the QSK60 engine that was approximately 1 million US gallons (This was obviously a guideline).
I know there is the load factor to take into account if I go by hours.
Currently I am achieving 20 000 hrs and the oil samples are still looking healthy.

Need help with removing bolts on aux gear pump

Hey guys I am new to this forum and to owning a skid steer. I have a 2000 bobcat 773G turbo. I have a leak coming from my auxiliary gear pump and where it bolts to the tandem pump. I believe it is just the O ring there. My biggest problem is trying to get that rear bolt off of the gear pump. Is there a easy way or special way to get at it?? I was at it for 4hours yesterday and I cant seem to get it. I can just get a wrench on it but when I do I cant get it to break free. Any help would be great!!!

Case 1835B Left side Drive motor removal

Hello all! New to this site and also to the ownership of an 1835B with "issues". I am trying to remove the left drive motor per a Case service manual I purchased. Everything disconnected as instructed up to "Loosen and remove the nuts and lock washers on the Ferry head bolts that hold the motor". How do you get to the nut and lock washers inside the chain case? Is there a special wrench to reach those nuts? Looks to me like you need to remove the chains to get to the nuts and washers. The manual shows removing the chains in one piece but I have also read that there may be a master link. Looks to me like you have to need to remove the axle housings to remove the chains so the motor drive sprocket can be removed through the outboard bearing cap hole. Is this correct or am I missing something? Any info steering me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

Lull 944E42 that won't run after bad fuel

We've got a Lull 944E42 with a Cummins diesel engine that was running rough last week (sputtering and stalling) then wouldn't start. After looking at the fuel it was pretty dirty and so was the fuel filter. All changed, tank drained lines blown out. New fuel and filter and now it won't start. Had mechanic come to job site and he was able to get it to run on ether. He could see fuel up to and past filter and could see fuel after injector pump. Injector pump raises pressure to 1600psi? Injectors pop open at high pressure? I'm no mechanic, but I know the basics and can follow the conversation.

He's suggesting new injectors and if not that then new (or rebuilt) injector pump. He's skeptical that 4 injectors would all be bad at same time.

Just wondering if I could point more definitively at the injector pump at this point. Really trying to cut down time as I need this machine working at critical point in build. Based on everything I saw It looks like pump to me. They have ordered injectors but not pump and I think that is wrong direction, we should have pump ready to go.

Ideas / comments / suggestions...

Thanks,

Roveer

Case 445CT - arm won't move

Well, I was using my grapple bucket to move some cut trees and all of a sudden I lost the ability to raise/lower my bucket. I can tilt/curl No problem, but pushing on left arm left/right....nothing. It moves track back/forward No problem.
Any thoughts on where to start diagnosing? Could it be a fuse, actuator...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Bobcat 773G Tilt

Long time lurker.. first time posting.
I have an issue with the tilt not holding on my 773G. It only has about 1300 hours and is used around the farm. I've owned it for 5 years and only had to do minor maintenance on it in the past. The lift holds solid with no drift but the tilt bucket drops fast enough to watch the decline. There isn't any leak that I can find and it doesn't matter whether it's running or not. Just drops faster with a load. I just put in new spool seals (very thankful for willie59's guide) and new seals in the tilt cylinder (I had already did the other cylinder a few weeks earlier) and I'm not sure which could be the issue. I thought it was something with the spool seals I put in since it dropped so quickly and the other cylinder wasn't touched on the tilt. I wouldn't think with 2 cylinders on the tilt it would drop so fast if it was the new seals on the tilt so I took the spool seals out and inspected those again today and everything looks good from what I could tell. Also no leak around that area as well. Could it be a problem with the one cylinder with oil getting by to drop that fast or I have some bigger issue? :Banghead I guess I can take the cylinder apart to see if anything inside is messed up but I'm hoping someone can give me a little guidance to prevent me from messing something else up. This kind of work isn't my day job and I just piddle on the side for enjoyment. :-)

580L with white exhaust only when going downhill

So, I bought a 97 580L with the 4-390 engine. Seems to run fine on flat ground. Might be a little underpowered heading up a hill in second gear but I attributed that to the fact that it's not turboed. It smokes a little when I first start it up but after a few seconds that goes away. I was used to that with both my other diesels. However, when I'm going downhill, such that the machine is up over 2000 RPM, I have white exhaust coming out...with a STRONG smell of diesel, which suggests to me that it's fuel, not coolant. But it only does it heading downhill under load, not a whiff of smoke when it's floored going uphill. Any suggestions? The machine supposedly was a one-owner with only 2300 hours on it.

Cat 257B undercarriage

Hi There,

I recently purchased a Cat 257B track loader used. I noticed today that the left rail (holds the rollers and idlers) is cracked pretty bad. I wanted to see 1) if this is something I can weld myself (until I can afford to have it replaced) 2) how hard is it to take apart the undercarriage to get access to weld it. 3) General advice on what to do at this point.

Hyundai HL730XTD-7 wheel loader has harsh vibration...

Hey...has anyone had a wheel loader that had a very harsh vibrating noise when travelling in high gear? I have a Hyundai wheel loader that starts a tremendous racket as soon as I select fourth speed. It sounds like a panel that's bolted loosely but I've checked and can't find anything loose. I'm wondering if the differential or hubs could be the noise. Any ideas anyone?

School Me MTL / CTL diff?

I can see the difference in how the undercarriage is built.

The roller frames on a CTL are similar to a full size track loader (I own a 953), bottom rollers fixed to roller frame, drive sprocket and idler.

Less clear on how the MTL works but it looks like the rollers "boggie" individual like. Looks like more stuff to wear out.

My questions are:

Why would you choose one over the other?

How do the operating costs compare?

JD 450B Starter Continues To Crank Untill Battery Disconnected. Help!

Howdy,
Trying to resurrect my Grandfathers JD 450B Crawler/Loader which has been sitting for 8 years. After Turning the ignition to on, and initially hitting the starter button, it will continue to crank until the batteries are disconnected. Burned the one positive terminal lead completely off. Suspecting a faulty starter button, i opened the dash and found a rats nest behind the instrument panel, cleaned it out and then disconnected the 2-wire connector from the back of the starter button and used a jumper wire instead. Same problem. After disconnecting the batteries, it resets itself and will not crank until power is supplied to the starting circuit, but then will not stop cranking. Any suggestions? Anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for the starting circuit? Im not what you would call a heavy equipment mechanic but have a fair degree of mechanical aptitude.... Faulty starter relay? Solenoid sticking? Any ideas or insight would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Bryan...

Hope Santa delivered this Christmas

I have finally joined up after seeing that there are other "like minded people" out there! ... my wife still doesn't believe me!

Ex Heavy Diesel Mechanic, have worked Europe, USA and my home here in NZ, one day I may write a book, but for now I am making a living as an owner operator.

Cheers

943 Track adjuster valves.

I backed out the valve and relaxed the track , when there was no more grease coming out I tried to back the valve out the rest of the way to replace it. It came out so far and got tight. I quit at this point so I wouldn't break anything. Can someone enlighten me as to how these come out?

Lull Frame Tilt Problems

We have a Lull 844C-42 and it seems to have an issue with the frame tilting function. It rides mainly on 3 wheels with the left front hardly touching the ground. Is there any way to re-calibrate the frame tilt so it has equal pressure on both sides? Has anyone experienced this before? Also, does the tilt feature have any self adjustment when driving over uneven terrain?

Thanks for any help.

New Holland L781 repower/rebuild Deutz engine

I have a new holland L781 skid steer that has the Deutz Air cooled engine that runs extremely rough, and has lots of blow by, i bought it like this earlier this year (cheap) and have not been able to correct this rough running, changed all the filters and checked all the lines for blockage and restrictions and replaced the fuel pump, I do not have the special tools to replace the injection pump. My question is does anyone know of a shop or dealer that sells/rebuilds these F3L912 engines or maybe even a used one, I have found them online and 7K is way out of my price range. or maybe even a replacement engine that can be dropped in fairly easy.

Thanks
Scamp

A couple of shots of my collection. The Cat 375 was purchased in 1996, the Case CX800 in 2008 and the Hitachi 870 was purchased this year. Out of all three, the Hitachi has the most detail with opening compartments.
