Deutz 3 cyl. diesel engine

I really didn't know where to post this, but this engine is in a Bobcat skid steer. It is a transplant, and we do not know what it originally powered. The only numbers/letters we have are F3L912, and 6561063. We are trying to remove the damper, and we aren't sure if this a right hand or left hand threaded bolt, or how to remove it without damaging anything. The engine will only turn approximately 180 degrees, and we would like to dig further, as removing pan doesn't show anything amiss. If anyone has any insight on this problem, we would appreciate any and all input
