I intend to build my house in the country when the frost comes out of the ground in the spring, and around this part of Canada that will be in late April or early May, depending on how much snow cover we get. An operator told me that it's not a bad idea to dig a basement in the fall and leave it over the winter. Is there any advantages to digging in the fall rather than the spring?
