I just posted the entire procedure, with many pictures, for rebuilding hydraulic track adjusters on the HEF track loader forum. It is posted in the thread Cat 951-C in my sites. It is on page 41 of the thread. The exact same kit and procedures apply to my D4E dozer. I think the information on the operation would apply to Caterpillar and most other tracked machines with hydraulic adjusters.
Still lovin the old direct drive D4E. It is a pleasure to operate. I had to rebuild one track adjuster on it. I have the kit for the other side but as it is not leaking down, no hurry. My 951 steals all of my spare time lately, and money.
