mainly workin in the southern iowa clay building ponds and terraces, having a little pitch and and a good scoured blade is the ticket.there are a few guys around running 6r lgp with straight blades and when the name of the game is getting yards to the fill how can a straight blade losing a couple yards per push keep up with a semi u, is the straight blade under rated?? have seen one guy go from cat xw im blade to the narrow taller one, said he liked it better for clearing trees, which he does a lot of!! some have switched from narrow tall to xw im. if I could figure a way to get a xw blade or after market semi u around the 12' mark on a 6r lgp I think it would be a good setup.

it just seems like some blades rob horse power by the way they are made, my 65 komatsu just does not seem to roll the clay like others I have seen, I have it pitched all the way back with new cutting edges.my deere blade rolls dirt way better

the best blade I have seen so far is on a td15e that thing peels clays like no other, it just seems like the tractor is not workin has hard to get a full load,it is also able to pitch back more then the komatsu.

when the name of the game is movin yards from a to b I think a blade is way more important then a lot of guys think

semi u, straight, pitch of the blade,a good scoured blade, no welded plates or rough spots on the blade all make a big difference in yards in a day. good tall grousers help to.

what are your thoughts on blades??
