So I may have the chance to buy a Clark C500-80 from my company (serial number 685-0260-7419). The transmission overheats and it would cost $3000 for them to get it fixed. I'd like to grab it for scrap price. I would like to make an interface for the lift portion of the machine to adapt it to my Ford 575D backhoe. But also, someday it might be nice to get the forklift working. Issue is, I would need a rough terrain forklift, this one is for use on concrete/blacktop. I see other C500 models on Youtube that have pneumatic tires and can be used off-road. Could this forklift be converted to an offroad version if I can find the parts? What's involved?
