Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've got 2,500 acres of land in West Africa to clear in Jan 2016 for a client. I did land clearance several years back in the same region on a much larger parcel of land (circa. 6,000 acres) using mainly 2 Cat D6's, a Komatsu D65 and a Volvo EC210 excavator with a root rake. Due to various constraints such as the client being cash strapped and renting out part of their fleet for a couple of months, we managed to clear just shy of 2,500 acres in 13 months.
I'm looking for a more efficient and swift way of doing things this time around using different machines/methods. I was thinking of chaining/scrub pulling first using 2 Cat D7/D8's and then moving it into piles using the Australian style stick rakes before either burning it in the windrows or excavating several pits across the site and using an air curtain destructor.
Any advice/suggestions would be welcome. If anyones interested, I've got plenty of pics from our previous efforts to share.
