Hitachi EX55UR. Had a fuel leak and found that someone had put an inline filter of the wrong size in. Of course, in the course of trying to get the lift pump bolts back in after getting the filter in, both wires snapped off at the lift pump. Must have been ready to go at any time. Now we are told that a new filter - by the way, the computer at Nortrax and the parts manual I have has an invalid #. They are telling me that a new pump - which supplies a Nissan TD23 engine - will take 2-3 wks. to get here from Japan. Cost is $350+ with another $170 + for shipping. Can anyone tell me what I might interchange with the original JKC (no number on it) lift pump. It's just an in-line pump with 3/8" stubs on either end (and the 2 wires, of course). If I had some idea of the psi for pump pressure and gallons per minute, I could search for a subsititute - or if anybody has a machine with a Nissan TD23, if you could respond with your make and model machine, maybe that would yield some information. Thanks for reading - I'd appreciate any light anyone can shed on this.
