isuzu 4jx1 caterpillar equivalent???

hi all, i hope this is the right forum for this thread..

a friend of mine has an isuzu wizard that uses a 4jx1 engine which is a 3.1L diesel. we've done a bit of reading online and have found that it is basically a caterpillar engine made under licence by isuzu.

is there anybody out there who has any further information on cat equivalent spares/models/build numbers??

its a japanese import where we are and its an issue to get decent filters, seals and the like.. even from our isuzu dealership..

we're both CAT guys and would much rather be able to get our spares from cat if we're working on cat stuff.

please help.
