Case 580B reverse problem

Hi, All Got my 580B almost ready to go . I drilled the transmission case and cleaned the screen and does fine forward. But in reverse , If I shut down the engine and start with machine in reverse it backs up fine, Anybody know why? Thanks for any help from jerrywf
