All,
I have a 84 Fiat Allis FD7. Back in January I was working around a small stream and unfortunately got water in the transmission. I immediately flushed the transmission with new fluid for a total of 7 times (over a months period). Reason for so many flushes, I was still seeing evidence of water on the dipstick. long story short, the clutches started slipping and we had to send the transmission to Columbus to be rebuilt (By a fiat allis dealer). we got the transmission back and it doesn't have the torque it used to have. the torque is so bad, it struggles to turn in 2nd gear. we sent it back to the company and had it gone through again and it seems to be doing the same thing again. we have a little more power in 1st gear but still struggles to turn in 2nd. the 1st rebuild gave us only a 3rd of the power we originally had. the 2nd is slightly better but nowhere near what we used to have.
My question to everyone is Could it be anything other than the transmission causing my loss of power and torque?
thanks,
